Universal Stem Cells Through Gene Editing

There are numerous ongoing efforts to create universal Stem Cells, which would evade immune recognition and could serve as off-the-shelf products to treat wide variety of diseases. One specific technology application utlizes gene editing techinques such as CRISPR-Cas to provide stem cells with the required immune evasive properties. A recent review article in the journal Nature outlines these strategies and provides expert opinions.
