Lack of Cellular Overlap Between BMAC and AD-SVF

According to a recently published study by researchers from UC San Diego, Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) and Adipose Derived Stromal Vascular Fraction (AD-SVF) appear to be entirely different biological products and do not share cell similarity. The authors conducted proteomic and transcriptone based cell analyses on BMAC and AD-SCF and compared the results to the commonly performed Flow Cytometry cell analyses methods. 
The results revealed that the biologic specimen were far more heterogenous than previously thought and that Flow Cytometry analysis does not predictably identify actual stem cells in either BMAC or AD-SVF. Moreover, the actual stem cell type (MSC) identified were exceedingly rare in BMAC. The types of MSC-like cells were also entirely different in the two types of biological products. As such, the current identification methods of Stem Cells were determined to be inaccuarate when compared to proteomic and transcripton analysis.
